Trump praise slammed: Sycophancy like third world banana republic (VIDEO)

Republican Congresspersons and Senators went to the White House to celebrate the passage of their tax cut scam. They praised the president incessantly as if he were solely responsible for the bill. It did make America appear to be a third world banana republic.

Sycophancy does make America seem like a third world banana republic

Is America on the path to becoming a banana republic? Based on how Trump operates and how his party treats him, the answer may be yes.

Bill Kristol appeared on MSNBC with host Ali Velshi and had an intriguing answer to Velshi’s question about Republican politicians’ praise for President Trump.

“Republicans who voted for the bill obviously like the bill,” said Bill Kristol. “They could have praised themselves and their own leaders, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. The sycophancy to President Trump, I guess they feel they have to do that because they want to work with him in the future and that is what he wants and expects. He wants it from his vice-president. He wants it from his cabinet. He wants it from congressional leadership. But it is kind of “third world” honestly, banana republic. You kind of show up at the White House and just fraught over the president.”

Later in the interview, Kristol said that Republicans should be running on their own accomplishments. After all, he points out that Trump is very unpopular. He said more than likely the Republican politicians are “appeasing” the president because they will need to work with him. Additionally, they may want the president to appoint some of their friends to office.

Kristol also points out that many of the politicians are scared about primaries. They have reason to fear because the president’s base is influential in the primaries and many of them could get knocked out there.
