I feel vindicated to my fashion haters, my crocs are in again

I have two pairs of crocs that are the mainstay of my designer wearing existence. I get flak, mostly from the daughter, about both my generic brown ones and my University of Texas Burnt Orange ones.

I went to check on a friends home while she was out of town. Her son was there and looked down at my shoes, those bright burnt orange UT crocs I wear all the time.

“Love those shoes Mr. Egberto,” he said.

I thought he meant it.

“So you like my crocs, eh,” I replied.

“Not really,” he replied laughing. “I just thought I would say that for the heck of it.”

Really? Man? I was going to commend him for his excellent taste. But I guess I had to wait around till the wisdom of the people who purchased 300 million+ pairs since 2002 resurfaced.

Well for those who’ve hated my style, smoke this.

The Independent reported the following.

Crocs are a very divisive item of clothing, a fashion staple that people love and hate in equal measure. Regardless of whether you think they’re the most innovative, comfortable shoes to ever grace the earth or whether you view them as a curse on humankind, their popularity is seemingly back on the rise.

A recent report conducted by eBay discovered that there were 25,000 searches for Crocs on the shopping site in April, with many Brits keen to nab a pair before summer well and truly kicks in. In that same month, almost 15,000 Crocs were sold on the site, which equates to approximately 20 pairs an hour.

British eBay users were so keen to find their perfect pair of Crocs that at one point in April they were being searched for every minute, as stated by the Daily Mail.

I will continue to sport my two pairs of crocs. I love the comfort. Even as they are now aged, they fulfill my podiatric needs and my multipositional foot comfort while blogging.
