Here’s the voters’ demand list :
- Re-establishment of a Progressive Tax Code similar to levels of the early 1950s — with NO LOOPHOLES,
NO L O O P H O L E S !!
- A nationwide, long-term, FDR-style comprehensive, sustainable green energy-oriented (where ever needed) infrastructure program, FUNDED BY the aforementioned progressive taxes.
BTW: let’s not forget to employ actual American citizens this time, not temporarily import slave-wage workmen from Asian and Central/ South American countries, like republican businessmen did during Obama’s watch.
- Establishment of a FULLY FUNDED Corporation for Public Broadcasting ( CPB ) as well as enshrinement of the CPB and a net-neutral internet within the U.S. Constitution, alongside the U.S. Postal Service.
- Universal Healthcare (aka Expanded and Improved Medicare For All, aka Single Payer ) In Other Words, So-Called “Health” Insurance Industry— “YOU’RE FIRED !! ” We have had past legislation that included provisions for funding and training of former insurance industry employees. THAT should be part of the new transition as well– after all, THEY’RE Americans too. But the CEOs can go pull themselves up by their gold-laced bootstraps.
- Tuition-Free K thru College/ Tech-Voc. school alongside a parallel Nationwide Service system consisting of volunteer high-school and college-age students who provide professionally guided pre-school as well as daycare for working single moms. This corps of professionally guided young people receive training as well as “credit” that can be redeemed at a later point for aid programs like we extend to military vets. OR, if needed, a small allowance to cover misc. expenses for said volunteers from modest income households.
- CRIMINAL prosecution, that includes imprisonment, as well as CLAWBACK of any/all monies illegally and/or unethically obtained, as determined by forensic accountants, by white-collar or Wall Street criminals.
- DISMISSAL of any law enforcement officer found to 1. have been members of any white nationalist group, including the “Oath Keepers” or 2. who have unlawfully killed or seriously injured black or Latino-Americans. Additionally, all law enforcement who patrol streets or travel in patrol cars must carry professional liability insurance similar to health care professionals. PERSONAL assets will be subjected to garnishment before public monies can be touched. Repeated wrongful death suits upon public tax money have to STOP. BTW: I’m not a heartless bastard, so those officers dismissed under the number 1. provision can receive training and job placement in a different field, as long as it does not involve guns or execution of potentially deadly force upon another person.
FYI: The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) can be commissioned to provide advisories on the aforementioned white nationalist groups AS WELL AS possibly help in “monitoring” all dismissed law enforcement for an undetermined period of time. They can serve as a check on investigators in the FBI, to help ensure the FBI does its job in this regard– sort of like the check that exit polls are supposed to provide during and after elections.
ALSO: the gradual phase-out of the I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agency. They are a drain on our public funds and are redundant, not to mention having a history of violating the rule of law. LET’S NOT FORGET: Honoring the legal promise made to Americans who came to this country as young children, not knowing they were Americans in name only– I’m referring to DACA recipients.
AND WE NEED TO ESTABLISH A CLEAR CUT TIME FRAME OF 7 years or less, alongside a clear list of steps to be taken and accomplished to achieve citizenship. NO republican nonsense about “fines,” or “back taxes.” Immigrants who work at low paying or existence level wages (if they get paid at all) have already paid their “back taxes” by way of their low wages, which put money into the pockets of their unscrupulous employers– as well as the social security system, which currently owes them nothing.
- A nationwide 10+ year goal of a Hybrid Economic System, consisting of approximately 40% of businesses as co-operative structured businesses. We should strive to grow the number of co-op businesses by @10% every 3 to 5 years. This is a far more preferable path than what some ultra-wealthy corporate-industrial types are talking about in the way of a Basic Universal Income.
If a UBI is promoted by wealthy republicans — WATCH OUT !!
That’s pretty much what I as a VOTER want to see prospective political office seekers adhere to in their campaigns and interviews. LOUD AND PROUD.
REMIND the republicans that numbers don’t lie — REPUBLICANS DO !!
