The Power Of Divine Love!

divine love

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). This is why the power of divine love transcends all man-made social distinctions of race/ethnicity, social class distinctions, and economic statuses. The election of Barack Obama and his world class family residing in The White House was an expression of God’s divine love for America as well as the world! The selection of Pope Francis as the spiritual leader of the Catholicism which we know as The Catholic Church was another divine act of God. And, the marriage of Prince Harry to an American “interracial” woman, Meghan, was another divine act of God’s love for this sin sick world: “What A Loving God We Serve!” Of course, it is only because of God’s Divine Love that even President Donald J. Trump can make a difference in a “sin-sick-world”. Born again blood bought Christians (Christ-like) need to: “Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16). This is why we as Christians should offer this prayer to God on behalf of the leadership of Donald J. Trump, the forty-fifth-President of these United States of America! “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.” (Micah 6: 8). America, as long as we have pastoral leaders such as Bishop Michael Curry of the Episcopal Church, who gave the sermon at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan as well as pastors such as: Dr. Robert Childress, Pastor Walter August, Pastor Terry Anderson, Pastor Raymond Farley, Pastor Reginald DeVaughn, Pastor Ralph West, Dr. Charles Stanley, Bishop L.J. Woodward, Jr., Pastor I. V. Hilliard, Dr. Ed. Young, Pastor Gusta Booker, Pastor Max Miller, Pastor Roland Robinson and Pastor John Morgan. These individuals rightfully divide God’s spiritual truth concerning love, peace, joy and individuals living in peace and spiritual harmony under the sovereignty of God! We have great men and women of God, who do not look back at sin, nor ask the question: Lord will you accept ten (10) because, we have thousands and I can’t name them all or attempt to do so in this editorial. The “spiritual” jury is still out on Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell. Therefore, we humbly beseech and pray for your divine presence in the life of President Trump, that he might learn to love you with all of his heart, soul, mind and strength as well as love and serve others in Jesus’s Name, not himself nor his family and friends. Because: “Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.” (Proverbs 10: 12). In 2008, God through his divine love and mercy allowed America to begin a spiritual healing process to institutionally redeem itself from its original sin: Slavery and Institutional Racism. The election of President Barack Obama and the quality conduct of their family life in The White House absolutely demonstrated that Americans can “Love and Serve One Another In Peace”: Yes We Can!!! The Republican Party in conjunction with certain Democratic operatives sought with all of their power and might to limit President Obama’s accomplishments. But, we all know, “What shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8: 31).

In 2013, The College of Cardinals realized that Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francis, was the “best of the best” to lead Catholicism in this era of spiritual uncertainty in order to restore wandering believers. In fact, Pope Francis has all of the spiritual attributes required for moral leadership in the twenty-first century. “Let him know, that he which coverteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” (James 5: 20).

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor of the Lord.” (Proverb 18: 22). The marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan spiritually symbolized unity of heart, soul and mind and brought to mind these scriptural words of inspiration: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed.” (Amos 3: 3). All three of these major “historical-events” were expressions of God’s unwavering Love for us regardless of race/ethnicity, religion, or socio-economic-statuses. Thus, if you did not understand in your heart and mind to trust Jesus, you need a faith-check. “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5: 6-8). Moreover, God wants all of us to know: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord…” (Hebrews 2: 3).Take heed, Christian Right Evangelicals, The Republican Party, and President Trump: “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” (Proverbs 8: 13).

Bishop Michael Curry in his sermon at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan reminded the world that “The Power and Love of God” covers a multitude of sins. In the three historic events referenced in this editorial, God in the universal language of love was seeking to redeem universal humanity, and at the same time, telling “all” humanity: “GET OVER IT”. God is God Almighty and His “LOVE” covers the sins of racism, sexism, and classism as well as any other arbitrary human “ISM”. Hence, the characteristics of love are like “FIRE” shut-up in your bones, running in your feet, clapping in your hands, placing joy in your heart because: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all of my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind: charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh not evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things,  believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail, where there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall pass away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” (1 Corinthians 13: 1-13). Charity is godly “LOVE”. Selah!!!
