Facebook and other social media are great places to exchange ideas and to see what others in one’s sphere and the spheres of others think at that moment. In these times of Donald Trump, because of his very being and actions, he has created a polarization not only between groups but families. Trump supporters are emboldened by a man who cares little about the damage he has created or about them.
There is right and wrong in this world even as there are grey areas on many issues. Treating thy neighbor as thyself is one of those absolute right things. Not harming physically and emotionally is as well.
For too long many Americans have attempted to temper right and wrong through an ideological lens. Many then have expressed those filtered opinions and thoughts in the public domain (Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets).

I want to warn especially those who are queueing their thoughts, opinion, and thinking process prismed through Trump. Many because of party loyalty and ideological reasons project this man. This man will be gone in 1 to 6 years. Your visible and “internet lasting” support for him will live on forever.
When the ideological/party fog falls way, the cancerous tumor that he is will be exposed. All will see the damage that he has inflicted on the country through a calculated pilfer via environmental damaging deregulation. They will understand that his tax cut scam accelerated upward wealth redistribution, a pilfer on the poor and middle-class. They will understand that he is committing indirect murder via the dismantling of the health care progress made thus far inasmuch as we have miles to go. Yes, your words of support will linger with many considering them those who enabled the sacking and destruction.
I won’t judge you as I understand how indoctrination, peer pressure etc. work. Hell, all Germans weren’t bad but got caught up in the hysteria. I will, however, suggest that in the same platforms you adopted Trump’s evil pathologies you atone. Humbly make it clear that you were overcome by the moment, that it was not who you are at your inner core.
Know however that many would have seen a different part of you that emerged in tumultuous times they never thought existed. Many believe the real person emerges in those situations and as such will never forgive.
Think twice before publicizing your affinity for or jumping on to the Trump racist, xenophobic, sexist, misogynist pilfering train. It will likely change your life and social dynamics for the foreseeable future.
