Kingwood Murder Suicide

Most of the times when I watch the news and see murders and suicides, it is completely alien to me. Well, not this time. A murder-suicide just occurred on my street in Kingwood, Texas.

I’ve been on this street for over twenty years. We have had deaths by a heart attack. Ambulances to pick up sick people. A few break-ins. But never murder or suicide. I always thought of this as a sleepy street.

A wife and husband are dead here at the very back of Kingwood, Texas on Longflower Lane. The official published reports is that it was a mercy killing/suicide. The wife had stage 4 cancer.

A toddler was in the home. The 11-year-old daughter was at the YMCA, and when nobody picked her up, the grandmother did and took her home. She asked her granddaughter to stay in the car as she went into the home as she presumed something was wrong. The grandmother discovered the dead bodies.

Every single Houston News Truck it seems is on my street. I feel for the kids. While the media is referring to this as a mercy killing, what about leaving a toddler and an 11-year-old behind? What about the trauma that young girl must now live through?

I heard other more plausible stories as I visited with the neighbors. But the truth is none of us could know.

The reality is that in America, too many of us are suffering in silence. We need to remember we are our brother’s & sister’s keepers and sometimes probing our friends and relatives is justified.
