A perfect description of the danger and pathology of Trump from on performance

Trump Mueller

I watched and listened to Robert Mueller’s speech very attentively. Afterward, I was utterly unimpressed as I learned nothing new. It was clear that Mueller was urging Congress to do something. Maybe impeach Trump?

But we all knew the President would react. He did not immediately. But when he did, he went hyperbolic. I wanted to write a critique about his explosion but could not find the words. My friend Cody Pogue did as he always does. And he admonishes Trump supporters, the president’s enablers.

Yesterday I watched a president of the United States call people in the other party “some of the worst human beings on earth.” He made up lies about a special prosecutor who was hired to do a job and has done it in a very professional and moderate manner. He said “You know who got me elected? I got me elected.” And then he went on a rant about how much he disliked a long-time, well-respected Senator, who was a veteran who was tortured for his country who recently passed away. This was days after he took the word of one of our enemies over the word of one of our allies and claimed that a dictator who is one of our nation’s biggest enemies could do a better job running our country than an American politician who has dedicated his life to public service.

These things are not normal. This isn’t how leaders of Republics talk or think. This is how dictators run countries. It’s not only wrong and embarrassing but it’s dangerous. It’s dangerous for our future.

I get it. I fight for what I believe in and I understand its difficult to turn against a politician who fights for what you believe in, but is it really worth it? Is this what Republicans and Christians want to be identified with?

Cody Pogue

There should be no doubt that Progressive activists have a very important task. Are we up to it? We better.
