Dr. Anand Bhat's idea to reduce the price of drugs while employing more people

Dr. Anand Bhat, a friend, a former guest, and a supporter of Politics Done Right came into town for a short stay. We had some coffee and a chat at Starbucks.

I think it is time to think out of the box to bring the necessary change to healthcare that encompasses more than Medicare for All. It is not enough to have all our medical bills paid. It’s important to reduce cost, make the system more nimble and efficient. Most importantly, we must stop corporations from taking all of our income and wealth because they have virtually unlimited pricing power.

Recently I did a radio show on how pharmaceutical corporations rip us off for a drug as inexpensive and important as insulin. Here is the video clip.

Dr. Anand Bhat on pharmaceutical drugs

Dr. Anand Bhat is in fact out of the box. He wants to use the availability of warehouses in the Midwest to store generic drugs that the government purchases in bulk. He points out that first, it would bring some stability to the generic drug market.

But the reality is that there is much more to his suggestion. The process will create jobs of all types. Warehousing and technology for extreme storage and monitoring of the drugs. But more importantly, are the ability to collect data based on outflows of medicines that will allow for the efficient future ordering of medications since the system would have all the information necessary to infer future needs.

Its time that we start getting good ideas from our new young professionals. The old methods are no longer working.
