MSNBC Pundit Zerlina Maxwell shuts down the only Joe Biden groupthink

Zerlina Maxwell

Zerlina Maxwell continues her sound punditry at MSNBC. She continues to buck the groupthink that permeates most of the Progressive punditry and purported Progressive media. She refuses to fall for the “mistake” Democrats continue to make as they attempt to force candidates onto the Democratic Base.

Zerlina Maxwell nails it

Recently, Jill Biden was at an event in Manchester New Hampshire. There she stated that it does not matter who any Democrat prefers. She implied that they must just suck it up and vote for Joe Biden because he is the one who can win.

It was a bold statement in support of someone who twice attempted to be the party’s nominee and failed. It is a tall order given many of the talking points that will be used to destroy Biden in the general.

“I think that Biden is somewhat of a placeholder at this moment,” Zerlina Maxwell said. “And I may regret saying that later. I may be completely wrong. But as I see it right now, particularly because many of the same indicators that were true with Hillary, big leads among older African Americans, big leads in important critical states like South Carolina. That’s true for Joe Biden.”

Zerlina then knocked the electability argument.

“But I honestly believe that the electability argument that we have been working under is incorrect,” Maxwell said. “I think folks are saying, ‘Other people are more likely to vote for Joe Biden because he is a white guy. He was the vice-president for two successful terms. So I will tell pollsters that I support Joe Biden when I really like Kamala Harris when I really like Elizabeth Warren. I am afraid because Hillary Clinton lost. I am afraid that if we nominate a woman, we will have a devastating defeat again.'”

Maxwell then gave Progressives prescient advice.

“If you are a Progressive in this particular primary,” Zerlina said. “Support who you like. Go all-in for that person. Everybody is on the same page about voting for a Democrat regardless of who the nominee is. But if you like a woman right now, in order for that woman to win the nomination, you have to tell people that that is who you support. And you have to go out and work on her behalf. That is how you dismantle this electability nonsense which I really think is a little bit sexist.”

It makes my blood boil when people talk about women not being electable. Hillary Clinton won 2016. She did not become president because of a constitutional aberration. The constitution ensures that the will of the people is not necessarily represented giving power to a specific sect.
