Nina Turner, co-chair of the Bernie Sanders campaign makes the case for Bernie

Nina Turner Democratic Debate

Nina Turner made the case for Bernie Sander‘s presidential election passionately. She rallied a Sanders crowd outside of the hall at Texas Southern University in Houston Texas where the Democratic Debate will be held. She did not mince her words as she defended him. She points out that he changed the entire debate.

Nina Turner speaks

Nina Turner is still Bernie Sanders’ most passionate speaker. It is clear that she is an advocate.

It was pointed out to Ms. Turner that the media may be propping up Elizabeth Warren given that many know it is unlikely that Joe Biden will make it through the primaries. Biden is not just a gaffe machine but will excite few new voters given his policies or lack thereof that speak to a population yearning for a candidate that speak to their immediate needs and wants.

That reality did not concern Nina Turner. She said Sanders has been a champion for justice for a very long time. She said he has set the bar very high. While she commended all candidates, she pointed out the fact that in most instances the debates are based on the positions Bernie Sanders has always had.

When asked if Sanders was ready for the onslaught that was likely to come at the debate, she said it was a competition of ideas. “Bernie Sanders not only has the record but has the chutzpah,” Turner said. “He has what it takes. So yes. He is ready for it.” It was clear in the debate he was definitely ready.

When asked about age, Turner did not try to deflect. She said age discrimination is no different than any other. She also pointed out that Sanders is in good shape. In a funny point in the interview, she pointed the camera to her tennis shoes.

“I want you to know that since being on this campaign trail with Senator Bernie Sanders, I had to give up my Stilleto to keep up with him,” Turner said. “So the Senator is vibrant. He has the vitality and the vision to do this thing.”
