A caller to Politics Done Right asked me to confirm that I was a contributor to DailyKos. I confirmed that I was a supporter of the largest and most trafficked Progressive site in the country. He then moved on to an issue he had with the site’s treatment of coal miners. There is more to this call than one may think.
The caller called out the website’s Founder/Publisher Markos Moulitsas for disparaging coal miners after the GOP broke their promises to them causing many to lose health benefits.
Caller object to DailyKos coal miner call-out?
Most Progressives likely had Markos’ sentiment. Most simply did not have the guts to articulate it. They played the typical cautious Democratic timidity song. Republicans won over many a Democrat without filters. Ask Ronald Reagan and his cabal.
I have a different modus operandi as I explained to the caller in the video clip in this article. I am patient in attempting to have people eventually convince themselves to do the right thing. It is not easy. Most rather invest in more immediate or easy results.
I do believe that in our Progressive fight, Markos’ tactic is a needed component. A Progressive space filled with different voices and tactics has the best opportunity to capture the largest cross-section of voters.
That a bunch of elitist air-conditioned-office-keyboarders would all gang up on someone who has actually done valiant organizing was at best laughable and deserving of being ignored as I did in 2016. Groupthink continues to be prevalent on both the Right and the Left. Step out of the channel and their gravity attempts to pull the weak back in.
I am only addressing this caller’s issue here because of the fact that it indicates that the Plutocracy has DailyKos in its crosshairs. It is clear to me that this caller was endeared to this old story through the new media techniques many of us are aware of in these times. That call was likely encouraged either directly or subliminally.
I am sure tacticians are working feverously trying to create dissent in our space. I will not allow it to work in my sphere of influence nor should you allow it in yours.
