Republican Rep to GOP- It was an armed insurrection. I will be careful in the side you're taking

Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger appeared on Meet The Press with Chuck Todd to message the GOP. It was an insurrection. They disregard it at their future peril.

It was an armed insurrection.

Right-Wing Republicans have been trying to rewrite history. Some have even claimed that it was just another day in the park. The New York Times recently released a comprehensive chronological video of what really occurred on January 6th, 2022. And, in fact, it was a very violent coup attempt on the United States of America. It was an insurrection.

Kinzinger was candid on several topics with Chuck Todd on Meet The Press. Todd asked Kinzinger what it would mean if he loses his reelections bid as one who is telling the truth about a toxic Trump. Does it mean our democracy is as fragile as it looks or that misinformation is winning?

Adam Kinzinger agreed that is exactly what it would mean. But he says he will put it all on the table. He said that if the GOP “decides that COVID vaccine hesitancy or COVID denialism or January 6th was BLM & Antifa, but yet we don’t want to investigate it, because… None of that makes sense.” He said the party could make that choice but will never be a national party again. He said it is unsustainable and that the American people will find something different to replace the GOP.

Kinzinger also said that Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy would likely appoint seemingly serious people to the January 6th Select Committee. But they will be there to attempt to scuttle it. He said McCarthy should be scared of the committee.

But his most prescient statement came near the end of his interview.

“There is this narrative that it was not an armed insurrection,” Adam Kinzinger said. “Well, it was. There were guns. There were arms. And all of that stuff will come out. If I am a Republican member of Congress or any leader right now, I would be very careful of the side I am taking because, in the very near future, people are going to know the truth. And I want to be on the side of the truth.”

Well said, Congressman.
