He has the baseline for the perfect Ad: Is the GOP the party of death? And not just on COVID

I get hundreds of comments during my daily program. This one from TOM C struck me. It was simple, fact-based, and easy to see and understand. The GOP is the party of death.

An easy ad to make: The Party of Death

Yesterday’s Politics Done Right was mostly dedicated to COVID vaccination hesitancy and similar topics. We played a clip from Fareed Zakaria’s GPS where he pointed out that, unlike any past pandemic, we have a ready solution. It was Republican politicization that killed 600K+ Americans. The piece gave us the perfect chronology.

We also played a clip that illustrates why so many Evangelicals are anti-vaxxers. A Tennessee Pastor threatened to block them from church if they wore masks. He claimed the COVID Delta variant was a hoax. But he is the spiritual misleader of many.

And then the White House reporters. These guys seem to need degrees in critical thinking. Their lines of questioning are not informative. They seem to want to score points on the administration using talking points. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is great at stunting silly questions. But it takes away time for substantive queries.

If we went to the core of the epidemic, the core of most ills in this country, many of these questions would be moot. Interestingly, as I went through many comments in real-time during Politics Done Right, one struck me. TOM C said sent the following message.

TOM C: Pro guns, Anti-Vaccination, Anti Universal Health Care, Pro Violent Insurrection, Anti Living Wage, etc. Is the GOP the Party of Death?

I got it. COVID mitigation is just the next humane thing the GOP opposes. There are reasons why they oppose all these things. I wrote an entire book that infers why they are wrong. But TOM C’s simple words make it so simple. Imagine if we wrote truthful ads as good as Republicans are at writing effective lying ads. My unprofessional not-ready-for-prime-time is in the clip. Let me know what you think of it.
