Whenever we talk about systemic racism, many balk. Chris Hayes went over some healthcare data that should make all humane people cringe.
Structural racism and systemic racism is fatal
I must admit that while I knew about the disparities in healthcare, I did not realize how pronounced it was. Only if something is systemic and structural can the observations that Chris Hayes points out be possible.
The tenet that some have to work twice as hard to get half as far does not only apply to employment but in every aspect in the lives of the majority of people of color (POC). It is hard to accept because it is a reality few want to accept. Why? because it speaks about the complicity of all with what is occurring.
