It should not be difficult to define those who are aggressive COVID Anti-mask/Antivaxxers. They are anti-life, immoral, and inhumane.
Democrats must lean into COVID hysteria
Mehdi Hasan hits the nail on the head. Democrats seem to be disengaged from the current vaccine/mask hysteria. The behavior of these medical rebels is tantamount to a death wish.
It should not be difficult to message this not only to Democrats and Progressives but also to the country. Everyone loves their children. Many have teachers, custodians, coaches, and others in their lives.
I started with the following post on one of the well-visited Facebook groups for our local school district.
I am sorry, but Humble ISD’s stance is criminal. An innocent, unaware infected kid entering a school without a mask is a kid with an uncontrolled weapon shooting bullets at innocent classmates. The only difference between lead bullets and the virus is that before the injured kid realizes they are shot, they could have inadvertently become an uncontrolled shooter as well.
Everyone has a right to freedom that does not impact the freedom of another. Parents on this board with children, our most precious resources, heed this. COVID-19 Delta Variant is much more contagious. What will your stance be for the first infected kid who dies, a death that could have been avoided.
This debate is confounding. Our kids already have many vaccines they must take to go to school. As you take your kid to school, you must have a driver’s license. A civilized society does require we give up some but a small number of freedoms for the better of the whole.
Death is final. But worse could be the lifelong maiming that this novel virus leaves. Blood will be on the hands of those who could have avoided the deaths or the maimings that are sure to occur if a change does not occur quickly. We will be clear who is to blame. And while it is said that Americans have a short attention span, maybe the disregard for humanity will change that.
Our School Board is irresponsible. They do not deserve kudos for following an irresponsible governor who has already gotten Texans killed for his dealings with the Energy Grid, as well as leaving Texans uninsured for ideological reasons. I cherish life. Neither the Board nor the governor does. Actions speak loudly.
I think a civil but stern message will get some to think and maybe help in their subsequent choices of elected officials; not all, but some.
