Journalists did not allow the MAGA march to spin. They were on full pushback mode which was surprisingly refreshing.

Journalists: MAGA rally not rooted in reality.

Watch Politics Done Right TV here.

In the past, the media has given the Right a pass. In fact, too often they made small gatherings of protesters seem to be larger by using beneficial camera angles. Conversely, progressive protests and gatherings were minimized.

The danger of misreporting and false equivalencies has caught up to America. And some reporters are scrambling to be more objective in their reporting. This reporter did just that.

She explained that the leader of the Justice for J6 protest claimed it was to be peaceful and meant to support unjustly imprisoned insurrectionists. Then the first speaker was related to an alleged violent insurrectionist in prison.

But even more important, she gave the protest context.

“This protest, this rally, whatever you want to call it today,” the reporter said. “Everyone here that we spoke to seemed to be acting like there were hundreds of people who were here on January 6 that have been indefinitely detained in prison and that they had simply just poked their head through a door that was already open. And that is simply not true on any level. Both you and I were there that day. We know that is not true. You look at the numbers. Around 600 people have been charged with crimes related to what happened on January 6. The most recent count I’ve seen of people still detained or in police custody is around 63. And when you look at an indictment of two men from Pennsylvania just earlier this week, they are accused of violent crimes, and as far as we know those individuals are still being detained. So from where I’m standing from what I saw on January 6, from what I heard today, I did not hear very much if anything that was rooted in any sort of reality or actual facts of what happened that day or what the situation is right now.”

And then the host.

“Yeah,” the host replied. It seemed very much, I gotta say, like a distortion of reality.”

It is about time.
