It was confirming listening to Joy-Ann Reid as she discussed the latest Quinnipiac poll. I pointed out in a recent blog post that the poll showed a confused populace.
This poll shows a psychological problem with too many Americans. They are too easily driven by political spin. But worse is a media that allows politicians to create an always corporate-centric narrative that leaves the masses wanting what should be theirs.
Most disappointing are Democrats, their pundits, and Progressives’ inability to put their message out in a form where they make Republicans and neoliberals the evil that they are. They actually hurt people. There is still time to set the record straight. It cannot be left up just Democratic politicians. It is all our job. We all have got to be engaging, inclusive, and going to where people are. I am trying to do my best with my program Politics Done Right.
“I looked at this Quinnipiac poll,” Joy-Ann Reid said. “Let’s go through some of this, the Quinnipiac poll. Biden’s down to 36% to 53% and yet everything is incoherent about it. 42% of people in this Quinnipiac poll say that Democrats, only 42% say Democrats care about your needs and problems. 54% say no, but more people say Republicans don’t care. This whole thing about immigration border security inflation that Republicans are pretending that’s what’s taking Biden down only eight percent said either of those things are the most important thing when unprompted. Do you know which party would you like to control the House of Representatives after saying all these things that indicate that they think Republicans care less about them? More people say would give them control. None of it makes any sense.”
Again, the poll shows an America that is severely misled. One hopes we fix it soon.
