When the media discuss Republicans, they often use false equivalences. Andrea Mitchell’s attack of Biden’s statement shows a bias.
Andrea Mitchell should know better
Andrea Mitchell should know better. Most importantly, the lack of critical thinking and thinking through different levels of indirection is disconcerting. After all, the public still creds the mainstream media (MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC) even as Fox News remains a lying cultish network.
“Well, I do think that taking credit for any reduction in gas prices based on what he [President Biden] did with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a little bit, let’s say, fictitious,” Mitchell said, commenting on Biden taking partial credit for the gasoline price drop. “It was more to do, I think with Saudi Arabia and OPEC leaders deciding to pump more gas and a couple of other factors.”
Really, Ms. Mitchell? She completely undercut the President with a hunch on a large platform. If she was thinking about the statement, one could understand it. But it is the disregard of complete thought to come to that conclusion that is disconcerting.
Here is the deal. Let’s think critically. The President was able to convince many countries to open their reserves. Saudi Arabia and OPEC likely increase production after realizing that if a group of countries could get together to do that, they could get together to get more punitive of OPEC continued its hostage-taking.
