Mitch McConnell does not believe African Americans are Americans

“African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans,” said Senator Mitch McConnell. You have got to see it to believe it.

Mitch McConnell had a slip that is no slip.

It’s been clear that Mitch McConnell has been spinning the fallacy that the two voting rights bills from the House were a federal government takeover of state elections. Of course, that is false. But we do know that all across the Red States, Republicans were busy instituting laws to suppress the vote of African Americans and other POCs. This has been occurring from Texas to Georgia and beyond.

A reporter recently had a question for Mitch McConnell.

“What’s your message for voters of color,” the reporter asked. who are concerned that without the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, they’re not going to be able to vote in the midterm?”

McConnell had a Freudian slip.

“Well, the concern is misplaced because,” McConnell said. “If you look at the statistics, African-American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans.”

And that is the problem. McConnell and the Republicans cannot have that. People of Color for whom their policies are anathema must not be allowed to vote in those numbers. As such, they must suppress the vote. You see, Mitch knows the truth.
