Republican Liz Cheney implores Americans to see Donald Trump as a clear and present danger

Liz Cheney turns the tourniquet on Trump and his sycophants, and very few see it. If Democrats don’t bring it, she could be president.

Liz Cheney keeps the pressure on Trump/GOP

It is not hard to root for Congresswoman Liz Cheney. It says a lot when the most conservative congressperson who is anathema to all the progressive policies many progressives support can garner respect. Recently she was interviewed and, while measured, had a lot to say with a few sentences.

“We are very focused at the Select Committee on a whole range of potential legislative proposals,” Cheney said. I think it’s very important, though, for the American people to recognize and understand what we know and what the former president himself is saying about his intentions, what his intentions clearly were a year ago on January 6th, and what he would do again if he ever got anywhere close to power. And that just simply can’t be who we are as Americans. It can’t be who we are as Republicans.”

Cheney’s Party is out of power. It has turned against her as their Trump sycophancy continues. Democrats are in control. Because we have two policy traitors who refuse to do what is necessary to support voting rights, family leave, appropriate tax credits, and more, Democrats seem powerless being in power.

We all understand that Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema hold the Biden agenda hostage. We also know that Democrats must lightly tread since the traitors could turn the Senate over to Mitch McConnell. When engagement to further an agenda is paramount, there should be more Democrats actively telling Americans what they want to get done. Make it clear that they need more progressives to get the job done, not a shift in a party for the incompletion of policy. This approach dispels the notion that “my vote does not count.”

One thing Republicans understand is that optics matter. If we successfully neuter Donald Trump, watch how Liz Cheney gets spun as the savior of Democracy. And there are many Americans who would eat that narrative up and vote accordingly.
