An inconvenient Truth Fighting drug smugglers at the border is senseless Stop the demand at home

Unfortunately, those who want to fight the drug problem at the border forget America’s capitalist instincts. Solve the demand, not the supply.

Solve the drug problem at home

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

One of my listeners continues to blame the border drug smuggling on Democrats. Of course, we know that drugs flow across the borders irrespective of the President or party in power.

One should always wonder when a Republican talks about stopping drugs at the border if they forget their stance, most of our stances on personal responsibility. The drug smugglers are simply fulfilling an American need as any capitalists do.

We always fight wars one cannot win. Why? Because it is profitable for a few. We get to build big walls, jails, and equipment. And since it is an unwinnable war, the spending under that ridiculous policy continues to enrich the few.

We would do well to remember that the smugglers and the users share something in common. They are the ones on the front line who are the raw material for the ultimate capitalists, the manufacturer of the drugs they sell. The users in Appalachia, the ghettos, the barrios, the suburbs, the farms, the exurbs, and the rural towns are just the pawns, the raw material.

Legalizing drugs is the only solution that makes sense. It allows users to come out of the dark. And it can be taxed to aid those who may fall victim to the drug manufacturers.

I am not an advocate for using drugs. But I know if we do not treat alcohol with disdain or as a moral deficiency, why should we do so with other mind and mood-altering substances. Hell. Alcohol destroys the liver, brain, and lives. How does it differ from other drugs? Let’s be honest.
