An angry Elizabeth Warren sides with Progressive over the anti-woman incumbent in the Texas runoff.

Senator Elizabeth Warren went after anti-woman incumbent Henry Cuellar (D-TX) as she supported Progressive Jessica Cisneros.

Elizabeth Warren takes sides, the Progressive side

Rep. Henry Cuellar is in a runoff he hoped he could have avoided. It is unlikely that he expected as strong a contender as Jessica Cisnero. But it is worse. Cuellar seems to be under investigation by the FBI, who recently raided his home.

Cuellar recently appeared on Meet the Press with Chuck Todd. While he claimed that he would be vindicated and win his runoff, his body language says something different.

Senator Elizabeth Warren recently appeared on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes to discuss her anger about the leaked Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade. But anger is not enough. She urged Americans to engage. Specifically, she had a message for a specific primary.

“If we don’t have enough Democrats to get that job done right now, then get us some more Democrats,” Elizabeth Warren said. “And I actually want to put in a pitch right now for something. Everybody who’s watching this can do today, not just, you know, on down the line, but right now, today, there’s about to be a primary down in Texas for a congressional seat.”

Warren then calls out the incumbent, Henry Cuellar.

“Henry Cuellar sits in that seat,” Warren said. “He is someone who has supported the Texas abortion ban. He’s someone who has voted against federal efforts to try to overrule, to protect Roe v. Wade at the federal level.”

And then Warren went all in for the Progressive insurgent candidate Jessica Cisneros.

“And he’s running against a young woman, Jessica Cisneros, who’s terrific and who has a real chance to beat him and who will fight for a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her life,” Warren said. So if you’re mad when you listen to this, send Jessica Cisneros ten bucks; if you can afford it, send her 25 bucks. If you can afford more, send more. But don’t talk to me about how frustrated you are because you don’t like our particular constellation of Democrats. Help us get some Democrats elected who will actually make a difference.”

I hope all Democratic voters are listening. They better be ready to engage. More importantly, it is imperative that we elect real Progressives who will support the policies the poor and the middle-class have been yearning for a long time now.
