Before I get into the evil of our student loan-driven higher education system, it is crucial to discuss Laura Ingraham’s inhumane statements. Ingraham tweeted the following.

My mom worked as a waitress until she My mom worked as a waitress until she was 73 to help pay for our college, even helped with loan repayment. Loan forgiveness just another insult to those who play by the rules.

One of the commenter’s answers laid it out well.

You graduated Dartmouth in 1985. Your mother died in 1999. From 1985 to 1999 you worked as a presidential speechwriter, an editor, and, after law school in 1991, clerked for US circuit judge and was an associate for one of the largest law firms in the country. 1/2

Yet you let your mother work as a waitress and depended on her to help you pay your loans until her death? Either you are a horrible person or a liar. I’m going to go with both. 2/2

The commenter should not have been surprised. The Conservative Republican doctrine has been consistent for decades. It is all about individualism with the likes of Ayn Rand as their idol, read god.

Joy-Ann Reid did not allow Laura Ingraham to get away with the comment. She further publicized the evil.

“Way to look out for your mom still letting her pay off your student loans by slinging hash as a waitress into her seventies instead of just picking up the tab for her, Laura,” Joy-Ann Reid said. “But you know what? I feel like Laura actually did us a huge favor by explaining modern conservatism in a nutshell perfectly. Just put the working class on the wheel even if they are family while the affluent and the rich eat. And while they may be cruel, Republicans are not dumb. They know that if President Biden and Democrats actually do something about student debt, it could activate young and progressive voters who overwhelmingly prefer Democrats when they vote.”

Here is what I want all of those who are on the fence or oppose student loan forgiveness to consider. Student loans are a result of an extreme;y selfish capitalist system. Our powers have brainwashed most into believing that this is the only system that delivers prosperity and ensures that it rewards people for their work and worth. That is provably false. Proving that reality is beyond the scope of this article. I go into much more detail on this issue in the series of books I wrote titled “Our Politics Made Easy & Ready For Action,” but specifically in my book, “How to make America Utopia: Take away the economy from those who rigged it.”

Here is the deal. Most people go to college to get an education because they think it will bring them a higher standard of living. Better income is generally the case. Corporations get an educated person with the necessary criteria to get trained and work for the said enterprise. That employee is then directly responsible for companies’ success.

College students pay a percentage of their education, and the state subsidizes a portion from taxes. Corporate purchased politicians have been consistently lowering the taxes of corporations. That tax reduction means, unlike baby boomers, subsequent students are paying much more for their education. The Ayn Randian individualist might say, ‘Why not? It is their education.’ That is only true if the educated student would be creating their own company and working for themselves.

The reality is that most people work for corporations and other companies. These corporations are getting educated employees they invested little in while that employee generates income for a company whose shareholders avoid taxes and profits from said labor. But that scenario gets worse. Students have had to take out more and more loans. Many of these loans are private, which means they enrich a lender by taking advantage of students who corporations are taking advantage of consistently. The new employee provides discounted service to the corporation, pays interests to a lender, and pays taxes to the state to educate even more raw material for corporations. Who always wins, shareholders and the executives doing the dirty work. And, of course, everything is packaged as if that is the way things have got to be. IT DOES NOT.

Forgive all student loans. Create a progressive tax credit for those who have already paid off their student loans. While it is out of my purview to design, those with the proper expertise can.
