Joe Scarborough slams Republicans

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

Joe Scarborough indeed left the Republican Party. But there has been a resistance that he has shown to criticize the GOP rank and file explicitly. Today he all but said that everyone must vote for Democrats as he has attributed the country’s problems to Republicans. While this narrative seems specific to the gun issues that Republicans continue to be derelict, his sentiment seemed more profound.

“I do my best to try to be fair to both sides,” Joe Scarborough said. “Even when that’s extraordinarily difficult because of the way some in my former party have conducted themselves over the past five, six, seven years. But I must say, there is no splitting the difference here. There is no King Solomon splitting the baby here. This is all the Republican Party. If you want to know why those universal background checks that you support will never be voted on, it’s because of the Republican Party. If you want to know why those crazy laws might be being passed in your states that allow people to carry weapons of war openly and if tried to, Sanders has his way without a permit, without any training. It’s because of the Republican Party.”

Scarborough then told the inconvenient and shameful truth about who is part owners of the GOP.

“They’re owned by the NRA,” Scarborough said. “And so we keep hearing again and again and again from presidents that can’t even pass legislation that nine out of ten Americans support.”

It is too early to know the reasons for the murder of all those innocent kids in Uvalde who were killed once again by guns. Texans are dying because of the policies of Republican politicians and their leadership.

While all Texans, irrespective of ideology and party, support humane policies, it is clear that Republican politicians and their leadership do not. After all, while the many massacres by guns in Texas and throughout the country are graphic and visible, many other policies kill many more Texans. Our irresponsible refusal of the Medicare Expansion to the Affordable care act sickens and kills thousands every year. Our lack of support for families creates lock-key kids who grow up unsupervised.

A party cannot claim to support family values when one does not value families. It is time to elect politicians who will value families going forward. Words mean nothing without deeds.
