Conservative Joe Scarborough defended the success of Democratic policies better than most and should use as an example to go on the offensive.
Conservative Joe Scarborough does it.
Recently California Governor Gavin Newsom appeared on MSNBC with Alex Wagner. He was willing Democrats to go on the offensive. He pointed out that many Americans needed to know how incompetent Republican governance is.
Well, today, Joe Scarborough went much further. He used an article by a prominent Conservative that implied America was on the way down because of Democratic governance as a catalyst.
“I’m so sick and tired of people tearing down the United States of America because their party’s not in power, And we heard it, and we hear it from the Trump Right. I read it this morning in a piece where this guy, who’s been a so-called conservative writer for years talking about the thin veneer of American civilization, it’s all coming to an end. America is collapsing. America is failing. How many times do we hear so-called Republicans attacking our intel community, so-called conservatives, attacking our military?”
Scarborough then started his schooling of the GOP and MAGA.
“Let me lay this out for the American people right now,” Joe Scarborough said. “Let’s just go down the list for a second. The dollar right now is stronger against other world currencies than it has been probably in half a century. Poverty at 50-year lows, right? Job openings are at historic highs. Job growth is at a historic high. Our military, if you want to take the measure that’s been taken throughout time and you if you look at Paul Kennedy’s classic from 1987, the Rise and Fall of the Great Powers, it’s always what is a power relative to the rest of the world. And by that measuring stick, the United States is stronger militarily relative to the rest of the world than we have ever been.”
I was not only impressed with the enumeration of issues but with the passion he used. I wish he included the Rights fascination with fascist European countries and Russia. But I guess he articulated what interests most Americans. We all need to have on the tip of our tongues what both Gavin Newsom and Joe Scarborough are talking about.
