Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan was not kind to former President Trump. He said the former President is a proven loser while speaking to CNN.
Paul Ryan: Trump’s a proven loser
Former Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan appeared with Jake Tapper on CNN. He was not kind, as he described Donald Trump in no uncertain terms. The former speaker was on the program highlighting his new book “American Renewal.”
“He’s fading fast, Paul Ryan said, referring to Donald Trump. “He’s a proven loser. It costs us the House in 18. He costs us the White House in 20. He cost us the Senate again and again. And I think we all know that. And I think we’re moving past Trump.” I really think that’s the case.”
Ryan was not done,
“I can’t imagine him getting the nomination, frankly,” Ryan continued. “And I don’t mean this because I don’t want him to get the nomination. I just don’t think he will, as an analytical point.”
While Ryan is correct, it does not change the fact that he is a coward. Now that Trump is down in the polls and is losing part of his base, guys like Ryan are growing a virtual spine.
