Senator Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin continue their journey to disrupt Democrats’ ability to legislate effectively. They thumbed their noses with a hand slap in support of the filibuster in Davos.
Sinema thumbs Democrats again.
Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema could not help to thumb their noses at Democrats and Progressives. They were on stage at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and the following occurred.
Democratic-thorn-in-the-side Joe Manchin asked Senator Sinema the following. “We still don’t agree on getting rid of the filibuster, correct?”
Sinema responded. “That’s correct.”
The two Senators then hand-slapped each other as if to rejoice in making the Senate both impotent and a ward of the plutocracy by the minority.
While this should be no surprise, it makes it clearer every day that our oligarchy does not have to spend too much on the political dysfunction that serves them well.
It is imperative that people vote for the most progressive candidates in the primaries and the general elections. Only then can we get the change we must have. The most difficult portion of our jobs is convincing people that they are worthy and that their votes still matter.
