Susan Pollard, a leader in the Kingwood Area’s Moms Demand Action group, organized a memorial for the victims of the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde’s massacre. It was held on a work evening in Kingwood’s Town Center.
Susan expected an attendance of about ten to fifteen people. Instead, there were over forty people in attendance in this very conservative suburb of Houston, Texas.
Taking into consideration that it was a work day, Susan made sure she had a well-organized and impactful short ceremony. It allowed those who had to leave quickly the ability to pay their respect as others socialized for some time.
The name of every victim was called out with a short bio that included their passions where applicable. It was a beautiful memorial for such a tragic event. It was founded by Shannon Watts, a mother of five.
