MSNBC Host Stephanie Ruhle did not allow Former Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX) to use our airwaves to mislead Americans about inflation and the economy. She cut him off to forcefully correct the record. That is the journalism America needs.

Rep. Will Hurd talked about what Mike Pence, Chris Christie, and other Republicans had to do to beat Joe Biden. To unelect an incumbent, one has to make a compelling case, especially when the economy and other policies are beginning to work.
Even as Republican policies have continued to lay the foundation for permanent deficits and a social safety net predicated on austerity, they must lie, mislead, and misinform to get back into power after Democrats and Progressives clean up their mess. This was true for Reagan, Bush 1, Bush 2, and now Trump. I detailed much of this ‘president by president’ in my book “As I See It: Class Warfare The Only Resort To Right Wing Doom.”
Will Hurd, in a backhanded manner, attempted to the standard Republican misinforming spin. He said that Republicans had to tell Americans how they would bend back inflation. But his implication was that inflation was going in the wrong direction and that President Biden was responsible for it.
Stephanie Ruhle caught exactly what he was doing and immediately shredded him.
“We want to operate in truths here and especially as it relates to the economy,” Ruhle said. “It is factually incorrect to say bend it backward in terms of inflation because while people might not feel ideal, inflation was running hot last year, and it has moved down significantly. So let us operate in facts.”
The Congressman protested her pushback. She did not let up.
“What you said to me a moment ago,” Ruhle continued. “Would be to bend it back. To bend it back means to reverse. And it is really important that we are operating in truth. And we will continue to do that.”
In other words, this is not Fox News. Well done, Ms. Ruhle.
