Watch a Republican PDR caller hesitantly agree with Progressive policies and principles.

A Republican caller to my Politics Done Right radio program, even if hesitantly, agrees with most of our Progressive policies.

Republican support Progressive policies?

Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here.

The caller first complained about a previous interview I did with a Progressive who was less than kind to Republicans. I pointed out that my stance is never to be confrontational but to listen, engage and maintain a dialogue. I did not include that portion, but you can see the longer version of the call here.

After he made a few comments about Social Security, I provided him the factual information that his party was intent on cutting and privatizing it at his and the detriment of others. I then went into the exercise to prove that even as a Republican, I am sure we shared more values than not. The guy even turned out to be pro-choice.

In the entire discussion, it was clear that he was attached to many of the statements Republican orthodoxy preaches, even as they are intellectually dishonest. But I was happy that he was willing to entertain the dialogue because he provided the thousands of people listening on air the platform to independently think when presented with differing opinions in a civil manner. And I am sure more with side with the Progressive policies. After all, the polls have been consistent.

As I pointed out to the Republican caller that we had more in common than not, one could hear his attempt at differentiation, but again, ultimately, most Americans want the policies we support. Ultimately, he admitted that he supports the policies Progressives want.
