Dr. Jason Johnson did not mince words as he pointed out that Senator Tommy Tuberville’s failure to drop his hold has put our national security at risk. He calls it legislative terrorism.
Prof. Jason Johnson slams Senator Tuberville.
Dr. Jason Johnson gets it and defines it as it should be defined. Democrats should be on every network shouting Jason’s words at the top of their throats.
“I keep telling people this is legislative terrorism. This guy, Tuberville. One senator is endangering the national security of our country and our allies for ideological reasons,” Dr. Johnson said. “He is putting people in positions where they can die. Not just the people who won’t have access to health care, but our military services around the world that don’t just defend our people, but defend our allies are now in danger because of one person.”
Jason then went a bit deeper. He made it clear that all the Republican politicians are complicit.
“And it’s not just one person as far as Tuberville and his particular ideology,” Dr. Johnson continued. “It is the entire Republican organization because if this actually mattered to them, if they cared about this country if they cared about our safety, then every other word out of Mitch McConnell’s mouth would be, and by the way, Tommy Tuberville, you know, get off the chair. You got to do something here. You’re harming all of us. Then Ted Cruz would be saying something, then Josh Hawley But none of them are saying anything because they don’t really care about America. So it’s disappointing.”
Jason then urges Democrats to use this Republican failure for both campaign purposes and to change the arcane Senate that ties the hands of Democracy.
“I hope the Democrats see this as an opportunity,” Johnson said. “not just for campaign purposes, but to talk about possibly changing some of the rules and how the Senate operates because he’s endangering the country for an organization that is no longer committed to national security.”
Could this have been said any better? I do not think so. Great job, Dr. Johnson. This is the narrative we must be hearing on cable and broadcast going forward.
