It’s Done! Now the work begins. Netroots Nation 2026 was a resounding success.

It's Done! Now the work begins. Netroots Nation 2026 was a resounding success

The largest conference of progressive leaders, activists, politicians, journalists, bloggers, writers, and developers, Netroots Nation 2026, is now complete. Now it is on to win 2026 and beyond.

Success: Netroots Nation 2026

I had a conversation with the House’s youngest and one of the most prolific and dynamic progressive Congresspeople, Maxwell Frost, who was nothing less than inspiring.

No one gives a better interview than Congressman Jamie Raskin. And he did not disappoint. What I love about him is that he is not timid about pushing back on anyone, as he should. These are existential times, and we do not have the luxury of being polite for politeness ‘ sake.

And then there was my friend and fellow activist, Analilia Ramirez, who decided to use electoral politics to achieve the changes she had preached about for decades. She got support from AOC, Bernie Sanders, and other real progressives, with headwinds from the establishment, who continue to support milktoast candidates.

The heartfelt statement below left an indelible impression on me. Brittani is struggling, yet she has found comfort in several Substacks that she supports financially. So often, those of modest means are the most generous as they search for answers. Brittani is a member of our PDR Posse, and above and beyond the over-an-hour drive she made to see me, she brought me a Panamanian meal. As of today, Brittani has a forever-free full subscription to this Substack newsletter.

The best thing for a Host, newsletter publisher, writer, and author is to hear from your readers/listeners/watchers how you are able to have some impact on their lives or the lives of those they are impacting. I was walking down the concourse at the Philadelphia Convention Center to get some coffee, and a young woman came up and said, “You are Egberto, right?” I said yes, and she responded, “ I was hoping to run into you at Netroots.”

Nubian started telling me how much she appreciated my newsletter, “Egberto Off The Record,” and one of my books she bought. I asked her to repeat it for this video. Suffice it to say, these acknowledgments warmed my heart.

I am currently at 42 interviews and counting. As I waited at the airport, a young woman who had given a presentation on online tools to help the cause approached me when she saw my Netroots T-shirt. We will bring that to you as well.

Our interviews are all very insightful, and their energy will make it clear to you that we are working hard to reclaim the rights that were stripped and to restore our economy. They cover so much. I interviewed Rich Logis, the founder of “Leaving MAGA,” for an honest and striking interview where we pulled no punches about atonement and more. I interviewed Ellie Mystal, who talked about the urgency of securing the defense of the vote in 2026 and beyond. I spoke to Helen Gym, a good friend who lost the race for Philly mayor after the establishment’s donors threw millions of dollars against her. I even interviewed a political influencer who gave me some pointers.

Last but not least, I want to thank the sponsors of this year’s voyage to Philly. You are the heroes. There is still a day left for you or your company to be listed as a producer of all the videos we created as sponsors of our trip, as we are still a few hundred dollars in the red. Find out how you can support here: https://politicsdoneright.com/netroots.

I will be processing all 42+ interviews, some of them over the next few days. The more evergreen ones will be processed over the next few weeks.

Again, Netroots Nation 2026 was another success. I cannot wait to meet old and new friends at the next one in Denver, Colorado. Let’s make this country the country it says it is, while still in aspirational mode. We must do it.
