It was another midterm wave. It did not have to be. It turns out Mitch McConnell is a genius. He knew all along that the intransigence of the GOP would be met by an inept traditional media that always attempt to frame issues with false equivalences.
That said, the wave was above and beyond anyone’s expectations. Jimmy Williams statement on how to win White Southerners could be extrapolated to how to win voters who vote. Democrats have failed to inspire mostly because of their timidity to be populists.
When a party fails to overtly articulate differences between the other party voters feel no need to vote. When a party attempts to mimic another party, voters feel no need to vote. When a party fails to push back on a party causing harm, voters feel no need to vote.
Over the next few days the data will be analyzed. The exit polls will be reviewed. They will likely show that Democrats under-performed. That under-performance was self-inflicted with a healthy dose of help from an inept media.
