Bill Maher slams Liberals, ‘The left has some crazies to reign in’ (VIDEO)

March 28, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Bill Maher equates Left Wing Liberals to Right Wingers

Bill Maher used the recent skirmish between Elton John and Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to prove his point about the comparable extreme on the Left. Elton John called for the boycott of the Dolce & Gabanna brand after the pair championed ‘traditional’ families and referred to IVF babies as ‘synthetic’ babies.

“We Liberals always talk about how the Right needs to reign in its crazies,” Bill Maher said. “But the Left has some crazy reigning in to do too. And lest you think I am creating a false equivalency, I am not. Because on the Right unlike the left, they have actually managed to carve out a place for their crazies. Unfortunately that place is elective government. … All the more reason not to drive people into their arms with crazy political correctness.”

Bill Maher went on to tell the story of the wrath incurred by The Economist from Media Matters for an American flag striped with peppers on the cover of their magazine. This particular example is a poor one by Maher. In the context of a serious magazine article the flag does prejudice the seriousness with which the article is to be read. The stereotype likely subliminally color’s the article in the minds of many. Maher’s misunderstanding of this is congruent to his blind spot in the way he addresses the Muslim issue.

Subsequently Bill Maher detailed the story of Smith College President Kathleen McCartney apologizing for using the phrase ‘All lives matter’ in an email she sent out to the student body. The email spoke about the failure of grand juries in Ferguson and New York to indict the police officers that killed Michael Brown and Eric Garner respectively. Anyone reading the words in her email objectively had to conclude these were words of empathy. That ‘All lives matter’ was co-opted as a counter to the ‘Black lives matter’ movement should not have obfuscated the truth in her statement. All lives do and should matter and it is just as strong a phrase.After-all, Latinos are being gunned down as well, among others.

“How deeply stupid has the far left become when gay designers can’t get along with gay musicians,” Bill Maher said. “When vegans attack vegetarians for not being pure enough. … I see agnostics and atheist bitching at each other. Why is this even a thing. Do you believe in a talking snake? Me neither We are on the same team.”

Bill Maher’s funniest and weirdest story was the one about the Vagina Monologues. The production was cancelled at Mount Holyoke College, an all-women’s school in Massachusetts for not being inclusive enough. “They said it offended the transgendered by offering ‘an extremely narrow perspective of what it means to be a woman’, Maher said. “Yes, we forgot all about the zero point three percent of women who don’t have vaginas but still want a monologue.”

Bill Maher gets this one mostly right. He still needs to get out of his tunnel vision as at times he is unable to discern the difference between political correctness and the basic respect for the humanity of others that neither look like him nor share his ideologies.
