Donald Trump phenomena real in the South too?
This week I flew from Houston to Denver for the Coffee Party USA board meeting in Evergreen Colorado. There were two women sitting next to me, one from Texas and the other from Louisiana.
The two women basically thought their respective governors Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal had done well by their states. They discussed the Louisiana schools and much more. It was evident these were two conservative Republican women.
What was shocking was what came after. One of the women said that she liked Donald Trump. She asked the other woman if she had read Donald Trump’s new immigration policy. When the second woman said no, she was advised to read it at the Trump website.
The first woman then said that Donald Trump was growing on her. The second woman concurred. There were several folks that were nodding in acknowledgement.
For those who think 2016 will simply be a repeat of Herman Cain’s nine,nine, nine or the 2012 election, a rude awakening could be at hand.
