While Rachel Maddow has done a great job in defending and promoting liberalism on her show, like many other liberal guests on these MSM news shows, the Right is allowed to make many statements as fact without an immediate response to correct the record. This then leads the MSM which generally is no more than a parrot of the input from those who speak the loudest to repeat these false assertions as reality.

Today on Meet The Press David Brooks stated that America is a Center Right nation in his attempt to delicately show contempt for the far Right Wing and Left Wing. Nobody challenged that statement which would have been very simple. Until more on our side get the spinal fortitude of Rep. Grayson of Florida and respond fast and effectively to the false information emanating from the Right, we will not get our point of view out to the masses effectively.
For the record, irrespective of how American answer polling question about whether they are Liberal, Conservative, or Moderate, our actions and expectations define what we really believe. Though Conservatives would point out that more people claim to be Conservatives than Liberals and thus given that the rest or Moderate (at the center) that in fact this is a Center Right nation is all but laughable.
Until the majority of Americans decide that we do not want Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment Compensation, and other similar government program we are at least a Center Left country. I would wager that in fact we are mostly a Left Wing country in our desires and wants but are ashamed that most of us actually want that safety net.
