We need politicians to “spine up”. This also means President Obama. Are you listening??
Democratic Senator Evan Bayh thinks the Massachusetts election means moderate and independent voters, "just aren’t buying our message." You have to wonder if the guy is really working undercover for the GOP.
It’s amazing the contempt that conservadems like Bayh have for the intelligence of independent and moderate voters. According to Bayh’s logic, those centrists have decided that the change they voted for has had plenty of time, in between cleaning up the latest 8-year mess made by Republicans, to produce some legitimate results. And man, they are not happy with those non-existent results.
It’s either that ridiculous scenario or suddenly, out of the blue, Independent-Moderate’s are not down with the liberal agenda that was pushed successfully by Obama and the Democrats during campaign 2008. Both of these reactions make said Indepedemods look really stupid. Nice going, Evan.
So, let’s see here. Yes, Scott Brown did flat out beat Martha Coakley for Kennedy’s seat, but so what? He certainly did not beat the entire Democratic party. I mean come on! Those "defeated" Democrats still hold their second largest Senate majority since Watergate. Watergate! Definitely not the time to panic, but Bayh still decides that it’s best to play the stereotypical "weak Democrat" and just give up to those scary, but totally harmless Republicans.
The Democrats should be throwing their weight around like a sumo wrestler dancing on a water bed because those Independent and Moderate voters voted them in to do just that. Evan Bayh, Jim Webb and the rest of the Conservadems should stop listening to Republican spin and grow some political spine and start fighting hard for the voters who put them in office as Democrats or the voters will have no choice but to vote in candidates that hate the Republicans more than they do; The Tea Party crowd.
