Republicans are playing a dangerous game. Scapegoating Hispanics to appease their base may earn short term gain. It will in the long term increase unnecessary racial tensions and justifiably make Hispanics permanently weary of the GOP just as Blacks are today. That is not a good thing as we need at least two viable parties to prevent excesses on either side. Illegal immigration has much more to do with the employer than the illegal immigrant.
