On Monday night, Bill White attended a meeting hosted by the Kingwood Tea Party and talked about his record in Houston, his plans for Texas’ future, and his belief that the government closest to the people is the most accountable.
The meeting was attended by more than 75 people including former Houston City Council member Toni Lawrence. On her Facebook page after the event, Toni, who identifies as a Republican, wrote, "Last night I didn’t to go to my bi-monthly Monday night meeting, The King Street Patriots Tea Party. Instead I went to the Kingwood Tea Party, to hear Bill White speak and see how he was received. He surprised many people with his limited government, fiscal responsibility and pro-business views."
The reaction from the attendees was similar to Toni’s– overwhelmingly positive. After over an hour of questions and answers, it was clear that Bill had made a significant impression, due to his thoughtful, fact-based answers.
