I have been asking for the real Republicans to show up and enter the debate. After all, had it not been for the progressive Republicans’ ground braking legislation like the Civil Rights bill would not have been passed. For too long the GOP has allowed the Dixiecrats (ex-Democrats) to govern their party with the same small mindedness they displayed in the 60s.
Both Bush twins are well traveled and have always impressed me in their adulthood with positions they have taken since their father left office.On a trip to Jamaica a few years ago Jenna displayed a compassion to disadvantaged kids beyond her years. Likewise Barbara’s visit to Panama displayed the same poise and compassion. That she is willing to articulate her support for healthcare being a right speaks volume of her character. Her support for a healthcare reform will likely be instrumental in many Republican youth escaping the shortsighted inhumanness the GOP has become.
