image With just 77 days before the election, Rick Perry continues to hide from Texans and won’t answer tough questions.

Rick Perry won’t answer for nearly doubling state spending, doubling state debt and helping create an $18 billion budget deficit. Don’t you think Perry should answer questions about his record?

Without your help, Perry may continue to get away with hiding from his record. He’s cooking up all sorts of excuses to duck debates and avoid journalists’ questions.

Please send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper today, calling out Rick Perry for refusing to answer tough questions at editorial boards and debates.

We’re not the only ones challenging Rick Perry to take a break from the canned speeches and photo ops.

A Dallas Morning News writer said, "I’d just like to see the governor answer some tough questions about his record…It’s a lot easier to give canned stump speeches to partisan crowds than to sit down for an hour and answer questions about your record."

A columnist in the San Antonio Express-News said about debating, "It comes with the territory when you seek that office. And the only way to prove you’re not afraid is to show up."

I couldn’t agree more. Rick Perry needs to stop hiding from Texans.

Will you pen a statement of your own for this week’s opinion pages?

We’ll get you started with background information and key talking points. It’s easy and a great way to make an impact.

With your help, Texans will know that Rick Perry is afraid to answer tough questions about his record. Thank you for helping us get Rick Perry on the record.
