I live in Texas. It is true that we have one of the lowest tax rates in the country. It is also true that 25% of Texans are uninsured. It is true that education in this state is very disparate. If you live in a wealthy district there are good schools. If you live in a poor district your schooling is lousy. Texas should be studied. It is a microcosm of what happens when you discard a class of people.
