The last question posed with a Progressive slant got the best answer from the president that encapsulated his governing position. In effect he is telling Progressives that he is a Progressive but must govern. He will fight when the outcome of said fight will ultimately not have long term damage to the middle class. He additionally challenged Progressives to look at his two year record in accomplishments for the Progressive agenda. He challenged FDR’s social programs then and now to illustrate what is important is setting a blueprint that changes incrementally as opposed to going big and failing completely. It is a plausible argument but we must keep the heat on the President.
