Houston Mayor Annise Parker stopped by the "Top Houston Political Blogger Holiday Happy Hour" on Monday December 13th, 2010. In attendance as well was City Council At-Large Position 3 Melissa Noriega.
Mayor Parker is a class act in that unlike many Democrats who seem to alienate the left flank as opposed to engaging them, is quite comfortable in all venues. I am sure the Mayor does not agree with all the different stances of the multitude of bloggers present, but the fact that she is willing to engage them all shows she understand what a real Democracy is all about. The President’s handlers would do well to learn to not alienate the left flank, but engage them with respect whether they are in agreement or not. It is disregard that can lead to dissension and revolt.
