This video is a clear case of police brutality at its most vicious and inhumane. That said Channel 13 & Quanell X releasing the tape does nothing to ensure that the most effective justice on these police offices will occur. What they have done is ensured this video will go viral leaving the door open for appeals that could ultimately result in these officers being released for the inability to seat an impartial jury.
Mayor Annise Parker, the Chief of Police, and the District Attorney is not asking that the tape never be released. The intent is to have it released in the context of a trial after an impartial jury is chosen. No one is defending the evil perpetrated by these officers. When media irresponsibly airs a story for ratings irrespective of the potential damage ultimately to a society, it borders on an utter disregard of common sense.
