RALLY FOR EDUCATION IN AUSTIN, TX

March 9, 2011 By Egberto Willies

Texas students are tough, but they’ve never faced a crisis like this. In communities across the state, we see the same grim headlines:  campus closures, teacher layoffs and deep cuts to core academic programs.

There is help for Texas students, IF our leaders have the courage to use it.  The Meyerland Area Democrats aren’t just talking about it-we’re traveling to Austin on Saturday to join a march supporting Texas students and attending a Save Texas Schools rally.

The rally is sponsored by Texans Together.  Detailed information about the rally can be found at http://www.texanstogether.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Rally

When:      Saturday, March 12

Where:    March–11:00 a.m. starting at 12th & Trinity

Rally–noon to 2:00 p.m. at State Capitol Bldg, 11th & Congress

Those wishing to carpool or caravan from Kingwood to Austin need to contact Karen and Bruce Menke at 281 358 4492 or kbmenke@earthlink.net.  We plan to leave the Stein Mart parking lot at 7:30 sharp and will return after the rally ends at 2:00.
