It is interesting that as the South by South West conference (SXSW), the bastion of the educated, the innovators, the forward thinkers are meeting in Austin Texas, our Texas government is on the verge of cutting the state’s education budget in draconian fashion. This is tantamount to capital punishment, a delicacy of the state, on the children of the middleclass. How ironic that if these cuts are effected, likely the vast majority of those attending forward moving conferences like SXSW will be those educated by forward looking states; states that cherish fairness and believe in investing in the intelligence of its citizens.
