A basic level that all Americans are automatically enrolled in that is paid for by tax dollars. For those who want premium healthcare with the bells and whistles of comfort can by private insurance. Those serious about healthcare should love such an option. It is humane and it allows for those who want out or a better plan to go private.
In other words, get insurance companies out of basic healthcare and we immediately get a 30% windfall. We must however allow any injured patient of any doctor the ability to recover provable likely total damages. If we allow caps on payouts to customers, then doctors and hospital will simply look at injuries as a cost of doing business as opposed to spending the necessary time and resources to heal the patient.
I find it amusing that those who believe in supply and demand willfully ignore that the supply/demand congruency of the argument. I would penalize lawyers who bring an obviously frivolous lawsuit as that increases the cost of healthcare on us all.
