A dear friend that I grew up with in Panama just sent me a link to a video response by Nabil Abdul Rashid, a comedian I had never heard of to a rather racist comment by British historian David Starkey who I had never heard of, about the causes of the British riots. I must say I have a thick skin and tolerate preconceived misconceptions about my being generally with a smile and attempt to educate said misconception in a civil and non-confrontational manner (much different than in my college days when I marched on the campus at the University of Texas).
I must admit to be temporarily dumbfounded when listening to David Starkey (video on left). The comment “Whites have become black” shocked me because his connotation was that evil, bad behavior, and crime is a black trait. The reality is I could care less about David Starkey; my real concern is that a historian with an authoritative narrative is more dangerous to a society than any terrorist could be. That he views behavior without causation from a racial point of view makes his historian title at best suspect.
Upon further reflection however I do agree with his statement that “Whites Have Become Black” for a completely different reason. You see, blacks on average for historical reason are the underclass in the western world. Because of their history, the aggregate wealth is just a fraction of white wealth, the aggregate income is just a fraction of white income, and the justice system mostly by design is harsher all things being equal. As our plutocrats have continued to pilfer the middle class, the average white westerner decline in income is moving them into the socio economic domain of the average black. As such the same behavior that grows from the black socio-economic condition now then afflicts all those welcomed into the condition.
Guys please listen to both videos in their entirety and give me a healthy discussion.
