Many activist also isolate themselves from the body politic proper under the false belief that all can be done online and in doing so they can circumvent our nasty politics indirectly.
This is completely naïve and if those activists continue with this social media only centric modal, they will fall prey to the masters, the corporatists, the robber barons. Why? Dependence on social media is easy to control. If you use twitter, Facebook, and Yahoo, the corporatist government can shut you down through the control of 3 CEOs. The story below illustrates the birth of that control. While Yahoo apologizes and called it an innocent error, I do not think it passes the smell test. This must be an awakening. Unfortunately I do not see the revolt about either Yahoo disrupting emails for the event or the constant banter of the lack of media attention. We all know if the Tea Party had 10% of #OCCUPYWALLSTREET, it would be covered as a strong grass roots movement.
Activists, the reason why we fail to make progress is we constantly preach to the choir as well as assume that brains are wired similarly. Fox News & Right Wing Rsdio distorts the brains of many and one must find a way to rewire their followers. This will not be done with social media but with relationships.
Yahoo has apologized for unintentionally blocking the delivery of emails that contained a URL related to the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrations.
Yahoo admitted on Monday that it unintentionally blocked some emails pertaining to the “Occupy Wall Street” protest that began this weekend. The company issued an apology on Twitter, saying that the blockage was “not intentional,” and blamed its spam filters for stopping delivery of emails that contained the anti-Wall Street campaign website OccupyWallStreet.org.
The problem, says Yahoo, “is resolved,” but warned that there “may be a residual delay” for some users.
The issue was first noticed by progressive political website Think Progress, which reported that it had tried to send emails that contained the Occupy Wall Street website from “multiple accounts,” but the message was blocked each time.
Attempts to send such emails were met with an automatically generated warning from Yahoo, which read:

Suspicious activity has been detected on your account.

If this error continues, please contact Yahoo! Customer Care for further help.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Several YouTube users posted videos of themselves being blocked from sending emails with the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ website. See one of them below […CONTINUED…]
